School choice means giving parents the opportunity to identify the learning environments that best meet the needs of their children. Every family has different priorities, needs, and wants—because kids are unique. School choice options include traditional public schools, public charter schools, public magnet schools, online public schools, private and religious schools, and homeschooling. Research shows that when parents are empowered to choose the education environments that they believe work best for their kids, students are more likely to succeed and graduate from high school.
